La Nuit Étoilée came into existence as the Funders Token for Starry Night Capital, the infamous NFT fund launched in August 2021 by Three Arrows Capital and curated by Vincent Van Dough. Commissioned as an edition of 300 for the investors who backed the fund, the full set was acquired for 30 ETH to be airdropped to them. The airdrop never happened.
In June 2022, Three Arrows collapsed. Liquidators seized the fund's assets, including La Nuit Étoilée, and sold the collection through Sotheby's. Of the 300, 188 sold and 112 returned to the liquidators. ACK bought back all 112 and burned 111, cutting the supply from 300 to 189.
From that burn comes a new series: the Starry Nights. Where the originals were digital, these are physical — ChromaSculpt master prints from Muse Facktory, UV-textured with SwissQ inks, hand-embossed, signed and numbered.
Synth Wave is the first to arrive: a timed edition at one flat price, the most obtainable of the series. The rest, including the elephants and the breaking wave, will come in far smaller numbers.
